By Car
FROM GLASGOW AND THE SOUTH exit the M74 at junction 4. Follow signs
for Glasgow centre (M8). Once through Glasgow follow signs for the
Erskine Bridge (toll 60p) and join the A82 to Dumbarton and Loch
Lomond. At Tarbet, near the head of Loch Lomond, continue on the
A83 signposted for Inveraray and Campbeltown. At Inveraray turn
right under the white archway onto the A819 and turn left upon reaching
Cladich (signposted to Ford). Ardbrecknish House is about two miles
along the B840 on the right hand side. From Glasgow it takes about
1 hour and 40 minutes.
FROM EDINBURGH AND NORTH EAST ENGLAND either follow the route above
or take the M9 to Stirling and follow the A84/A85 route through
Callendar, Crianlarich and Dalmally. Just after Dalmally (opposite
the golf course), turn left onto the A819. Follow this for about
7 miles until a right turn to Cladich and Ford (B840). Ardbrecknish
House is about two miles along the B840 on the right hand side.
By Air
Glasgow (GLA), Prestwick or Edinburgh (EDI) International airports.
Only 1 hour 40 minutes from Glasgow, 2 hours from Prestwick (near
Glasgow), or 2 and a half hours from Edinburgh.
By Rail
Dalmally is the nearest station, served from Glasgow Queen Street
Station by the West Highland Line. There are 3 trains a day.
By Bus
Dalmally and Inveraray are the nearest official bus stops for Scottish
Citylink services from Glasgow (or from Edinburgh to Tyndrum/Dalmally
in the summer months). The driver will stop at Claddich for you
on the Glasgow-Oban service if asked, just two miles from Ardbrecknish.
Glasgow to Inveraray takes 1 hour 40 minutes.
